Credit Score Helpful Tips

Knowing what is on your credit report will help you figure out where you stand. A good first step is requesting a free annual credit report from all 3 bureaus: Equifax, Experian and Transunion.  Call toll free: 1-877-322-8228 or visit www.annualcreditreport.com

Pay your bills on time and maintain credit history. Your score builds over time. Paying your bills and using your credit cards in moderation will help strengthen your credit history. Consistency is a key factor.

Get caught up on past due bills. If you are struggling to pay your bills, give us a call! We might be able to help with a payment plan or you can sit down with one of our financial counselors.

Keep the number of credit cards you have to a minimum. Try not to cancel or close your credit cards as that could impact the total amount of credit you have available and how much you have used. Maintain minimum usage and pay the balance off on time.

Rebuilding your credit can take time depending on your circumstances. Being patient and forming good habits will pay off in the long run!
